...colleagues, yet friends...

...today's blip was a difficult choice...

...after a day of amazingness, it was difficult to determine which to choose. i chose this one for multiple reasons. my friend, mike (in the white) called yesterday to see if i wanted to join him for a great opportunity: gabe, in the purple, is friends with ken, in the collar, and invited PIIN (Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network) to join the union-only parade as guests of SEIU (Service Employees International Union); naturally, i said yes. i was not aware from mike that ken was a part of this, or that gabe was the one who had extended the invitation, as i know ken from the seminary and know gabe from the coffee shop. well, this picture seems to capture most of the day. the parade itself was about a 25 minute walk, but the waiting was about 3 hours of "schmoozing" and networking. mike brought two other friends, but they had to leave, so ken and mike were the true PIIN folks at the end, and gabe was naturally there until the end as he is highly ranked in the Union...

...another important part of this photo is the presence of ken. he's doing a lot of the things in which i am interested and offered some practical advice and substantial help for me personally...

...anyway, the day included a good march, great chanting, phenomenal food, long hikes, longer naps, and charlie wilson's war (highly recommended), with the greatest consolation of my day yet to come...
