cherish what remains

grammy's textiles

Made a quick trip up to Green Bay to visit my parents. My father was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer and is recovering from surgery. I found them tired but coping. We tried to help as much as we could, lifting and carrying heavy things. The Mister made a trip to the store to buy salt for the water softener while I went through mom's store of things she wants to know if I want. The process is a bit overwhelming. What am I going to do with five embroidered linen table cloths, six tea cloths, and multiple napkins and runners and such to match? Did people never spill anything in the old days? If there isn't any room to store them, can I give away the everyday things and just use them?
