Drunken Duncan
On the banks of the Cowichan River as it flows near the town of Duncan folks gather to fish, swim and drink. In this photo you see a group of young people arriving at the river to drink beer.
In the nineteen sixties an American tourist wrote a letter to the editor of the local newspaper. The tourist complained about the alcohol consumption she witnessed while in Duncan. From then on our town has had the name drunken Duncan.
