A new era dawns

As Easter approaches, Blackpool prepares.
The sun is shining and the local businesses will be hoping for lots more to kick start the local area.
Though how much people will have to spend is a debate that will continue long after the ink has dried on yesterday's Budget.

There have been trams in Blackpool for well over 100 years. Until very recently some of the early trams were still in regular service.

But they have finally got to the end of the line, to be replaced with these brand new hi-tech models.

The old trams had character and history but if you had any physical restriction to your mobility you were stuffed. Disabled friendly they most definitely were not!
With these new ones you can wheel a wheeelchair straight on.
Of course this progress had to be made, it was necessary.
But I can't help sparing a moment for the dear old trams that have left us.
