Morning Reverie

I was out relatively early this morning to replenish our food stocks, and stopped by Lake Padden Park in hopes of getting a blip.

I heard the stand up paddle boarder before seeing him, the quiet dip of his oar the only sound on Lake Padden this morning. I was fascinated by his slow glide across the tranquil water, as well as by his ability to balance on the board.

The solitary figure, the smooth water in the midst of delicate ripples, and the watching trees on the shore create a mythical quality that prevails over the modern craft.

I'm glad that I stopped by when I did.
