Beautiful and Useful

I have an inexplicable attraction to stones.

Especially rounded stones. Small rounded ones sit in my hand like an egg, and larger ones are pleasing to stroke, like the arched back of a contented cat mid-stretch.

Which is why I could not resist buying this table lamp a few years ago, even though it cost more than I'd ever spent before for a lamp.

It came from this shop, which I haven't dared enter since, for fear I'd fall in love with something else there.

A small rounded stone, a large rounded stone, some curving metal, a textured shade, and light to read by. Perfect.
