Sloe down
Nothing day at work, in fact don't remember the phone ringing so a bit worrying!
Got home to find Gee had got the children some new snazzy micro scooter things so enjoyed watching them (and the wife) bombing around the square on them.
Thought they would be worn out but they were horrific at going to bed, so much so that I ended up with a splitting headache after the screaming and shouting had finally died down!
The wife enticed me into a G&T to calm me down and this led to quite a few more!
There is something very special about spontaneous drinks with the wife and we end up having a great laugh and chat about anything and everything. I love these nights. We even treated ourselves to a race around the square on the scooters, which she won (although I suspect she may have cheated!).
We ran out of gin so the wife suggested we have homemade sloe gin and tonic. Big mistake! God only knows how long that stuff has been sitting in our drinks cupboard (although I vaguely remember the wife making it about 6 years ago) but it is a monster.
In all honesty, it ruined an otherwise great night as we began unnecessarily debating all sorts of irrelevant things.
I have learnt a valuable lesson tonight...never drink sloe gin.
