What a treat tonite! We were guests of a benefactor of Baltimore's National Aquarium and were treated to an after-hours dinner on site and private meandering through the aquarium at our own leisure afterwards. There is something very special about wandering about in dimmed lights, with the place as your own, esp when the decor is all about water: it shimmers with darting fish, reflecting and bouncing around all over. Super cool.

The dinner was a farm-to-table four-course oyster feast, prepared on site by a local chef. Each course had its own wine, with my personal favorite a delightful combination Riesling/Gewurtz also grown locally (and it takes a lot for an Alsatian like me to admit that!).

Tonite's event was all about conservation and sustainable fishing, with lots of interesting tidbits from different speakers. Oysters are a big industry in this area and it is only just beginning to recover from overfishing a few decades ago.
