TURNSTONE

Hello Turnstone! Found all around the UK coastline, this small bird particularly likes feeding on rocks covered with seaweed, and along seawalls and jetties - hence this blip.

Smaller than a Redshank, Turnstones have a mottled appearance with brown or chestnut and black upperparts and brown and white or black and white head pattern, whilst their underparts are white and legs orange.

Present for most of the year, they feed on insects, crustaceans and molluscs.
He seemed very happy scouring the harbour wall for any food - especially spent chips !
