inspired by native trees

We collected a bag full of native trees and shrubs from this nursery today. They include a damson tree, two rowens to keep the witches away a guilder rose and two hawthorns. They are all fine specimens, and only cost a little over £10. Rachel said she couldn't give us a blackthorn because they weren't big enough yet. She spoke as if she really cared about the plants she was growing.

I hope we can foster that same spirit when we plant them in our garden. They will certainly have to be carefully nurtured with regular watering if this exceptional dry spell continues.
