Beyond beauty.
Spoilt fot choice today on what to blip - and it's only midday!
Like the iris I blipped a few days ago, this is one of the flowers from mothers day.
We're used to seeing flowers in a perfect pristine state, but I've been waiting for this flower (and lots of the other flowers) to start to decay, wilt and loose its structure so it was less than it's sparkling best.
Today was the day (am supposed to be working through a list of jobs though...)
For this interested - The background was simply some black mount board positioned to it was completely shaded. The flower was place a couple of feet in front but in the nice diffused light from the lounge window.
The camera, my old trusty 5D, on a tripod, mirror lock engaged. The exposure was taken using an incident light meter but then slightly over-exposed (to expose to the right).
Levels were tweaked in Lightroom, sharpened slightly and a small amount of post-crop applied to darken the base of the stem - could have done a graduated filter too. A slight crop was done to balance up the image.
