Live it loud!

Expensive Easter Sunday

Tilly barked several times in the night disturbing our sleep somewhat. At the second barking session I went down and she went to the back door to go out. Having opened it she was desperate to get out to do her stuff. This is very unusual as she rarely if ever goes out alone in the dark.

When I walked her after we got up it was clear she wasn't at all well. So, again on a bank holiday weekend, it was off to the emergency vet's surgery. She was diagnosed as I suspected, an UT infection which couldn't have waited until Tuesday. I have been relieved of the thick end of £230 for treatment and call-out costs. Got to dig out the insurance documents to find out if it's worth claiming. I'm sure we're on a £100 excess, and, by claiming, the premium is likely to go up by the same amount next year - No win!

The upside is that Tilly seems somewhat improved even after a few hours after treatment which is a relief.

After yesterdays abysmal attempt at a blip (it was a blip, a little creative maybe, but of little general interest and not particularly good) I thought I'd better put some effort into todays.

The crocuses in the garden have now been uncovered from under snow. Most of the snow has in fact gone with the exception of little piles where driveways were cleared. Yesterday we went up into Derbyshire and there were still drifts well over car height at the side of some roads. Must have been difficult up there last weekend.

Anyway, I digress. I photograph the crocuses and daffodils each year. The daffodils are miniature ones, little larger than the crocuses. These purple ones have a lovely colour to them with the contrasting yellow of the stamens, so, these were favourite today.

Just awaiting dinner to finish (we're habitual late eaters of sunday lunch, much to my parents annoyance when they come) which we're all looking forwards to today. Hopefully we'll get out for a few hours tomorrow.
