Drinking Well

This is the 'Wee School' drinking well that is set into the wall in the playground. It is cast iron and has a cup on a heavy chain that rests above the spout. It is dated 1861.

The children marched into class in twos - girls partnered boys. There was one teacher for the whole schoolroom.
