Dancing queens
It's my longest serving friend's 30th birthday today. Shelley (in the middle) and I met age 11, when she joined my school. We both travelled to school by train so we soon got chatting and found we had heaps in common. Those 45 mins used to go by in a flash once we started talking, and soon we were spending most nights at each others houses so we could hang out all the time. We were inseparable. We even invented our own language so we could talk without people listening in.
Obviously now we have both grown up now and have our own families, sometimes we can go weeks without contact. It makes me feel sad that we can't prioritise our friendship like that anymore. Other things just get in the way. Sob.
One thing that always remains the same is how much fun she is. We all went out to see an Abba tribute night. I'm not an Abba fan at all but it was such a good evening. Great company, lots of wine and hours of dancing. Bliss!
