Air-U-Dite

I went to the local shopping mall today to buy my daughter some school shoes. One clothing store had this kind of crazy, eye-catching display in the front windows using hundreds, if not thousands, of old books.

Part of me was aghast -- I love books and can't imagine treating even unloved books like this. Surely someone could still read and enjoy them! Another part of me found it artful and intriguing. I wondered where they got so many unwanted books, how much time went into to creating the display, and what's going to happen to all of those books when the display is taken down. It got me into the store, and I guess that was the whole point.
