Late Season Leftovers
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old Time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.
~Robert Herrick
Took my daughter and one of the dogs for a walk through the remains of this year's community garden. The leftovers indicated that it had been a bad year for tomatoes (those photos too sad to blip), but a decent year for flowers. The gardens were deserted, but not quiet -- a chorus of crickets and a few industrious bees gathering nectar and pollen from what fading flowers remained.
Not the best shot, as I wasn't feeling too photographically inspired today, but I kind of liked the fuzziness of it. It somehow reminds me of the sounds of the garden today.
