It was blowing an absolute 'hooley' when we got to the airport and our hearts sank when the tannoy announced that the Aer Lingus flight had been diverted to Split due to the adverse weather.
Half an hour later, in flew BA to our relief. When we were on the runway preparing to 'rev up' the plane was REALLY being buffeted about and I still thought the flight could be pulled, but the pilot said it was ok at 10,000 ft - it was interesting getting up there but he was right!!
