Eels
You may think that freshwater eels are relative small creatures that slither quickly away at the first sight or sound of a human being. However a few weeks ago I saw a programme on ITV about a guy who travels the worlds in search of extraordinarily large and aggressive fish. One episode was devoted to eels in New Zealand. Apparently there were rumours of eels two or three metres long that dragged small children to their deaths. It would be quite reasonable for one to be very sceptical about such reports but in reality these New Zealand eels were at least a metre and a half long and very aggressive. This beast is to be found in Victoria Park in Auckland and is as much of an eel as I'm going to get close to.
