One day at a time!

By smilesf0rdays

A time or two I am right in my lust
But often times throughout the long day
I run too fast and love too much
For I am blind to the dismay
But all the more I see the toils
Like a witch with a dirty cauldron
Knowing the brew soon spoils

Day in and day out, I feel heavy
I carry the weight of the world, it seems
Running through poison ivy fast
But all the while the blue eye gleams
Scratching away at soft, blemished skin
Repercussions like a red, painful rash
Ever true the importance lies within

I worry, for my mind is not safe
Hide from this life in a dark shadow
But remain inspired by those who carry on
Ask not, where do we go?
Let me rid myself of heavy heads
Like those who attempt not
And lay forever in consequential beds
