Snow...

In APRIL??!

Not sure what has gone on today, other than we've seen all four seasons at various stages of the day! From rain to sunshine and blue skies to snow and hailstones then back to sunshine!

My Dad told me this morning that statistically it's more likely to snow in April than it is at Christmas! Well there's a cheery thought!

I dropped the car off first thing and they said they'd have a look. The woman in the office called me at half ten and said they couldn't find anything wrong. I asked if they'd actually driven it anywhere and she said they had. I told her that they couldn't possibly fail to notice the noise and asked her to send them to check again. Even if you just rev the engine while it's stationary you'd hear it. She said she'd get the boss to go out in it and check again.

I worked through lunch so that I could go down and get the car this afternoon and she called at half two to say they'd fixed it... apparently a pipe hadn't been attached. My brother came to pick me up and whirl me down there to collect it. I asked if the pipe not being attached would have an effect on the fuel consumption and she said 'oh yes, it wouldn't have been running right!' Yeah no shit sherlock!! No offer of an apology or anything, just said that I should go back if anything else was wrong. Well that's reassuring, thanks very much!!

Anyway... it's fixed now and I'm feeling much more confident about my trip south on Friday! Keep everything crossed! (AA membership is up to date just in case!)

One more day of work then no more work for two weeks!! Hurrah!!

(I hope the weather improves by the weekend else my plan for a nice holiday week in semi-summer clothes that have been packed for almost a month is going to be a total disaster!!)
