Snow Business
Edinburgh in the snow from the Calton Hill steps this evening. Today was a definition of the word "changeable"! Wild, blue skies, and back to wild.
Big Changes.
I was soaked on the way to work, and had to push the bike (for the first time ever) up the Belhaven hill by the golf course into the howling Easterly gale. Serious.
Then the train was delayed, late to work... But I got there. Sat in the office and watched as HUGE 2nd floor windows wobbled in their frames in the gale and threatened to fall out. Scary.
The weather improved through the day, but promptly deteriorated when I left the building and jumped on the bike back to the station. The trains were delayed, so I walked up Calton Hill to see what I could see. Lovely, bracing, snowy. I took this shot on the way back down.
The home train was very delayed, East Coast Trains treated the passengers with contempt (after telling us no information about whether and where the train was, they threw us all off the train TWICE "for health and safety" after we had waited over an hour for the blimmin train) and I was very glad of the continuing Easterly to blow me home. Phew.
A few more from today on Flickr.
The wind is still howling outside.
