People's Square

People's Square and People's Park are in the centre of Shanghai, providing a great open space for locals and visitors. Our first impressions of this huge city (one of the biggest in the world) are that it is crowded, certainly - but not more so than London or Paris on a busy day - friendly, welcoming and exciting.

We got our first dose of Chinese culture in the excellent Shanghai Museum, situated in a modern building on the edge of the Square.
