inspired by spring blossom
We escaped the snow that was forecast, but the wind was bitter, and very powerful. It huffed and puffed at out little house, but could not blow it down. It just flung our garden chairs around and took the lids off our compost bins. The lilac looks rather shocked and the newly planted honeysuckle is wilting.
I was concerned for the little tree in the back garden. Two days ago a few of the petals began to unfurl. Fortunately, most of the buds are still tightly closed. We are still not sure what type of tree it is, but I think it is some kind of plum. It doesn't look like a damson. Perhaps it is a greengage. Would it be too much to hope that it is my favourite, Victoria plum?
