Thistle Down

Good People

There are so many good people,
The world has its share.
They seek to be righteous,
And another's burden to share.

Not because of enrollment,
In the church of their choice.
But inwardly they are kind,
With no hurt in their voice.

The spirit doth tell them,
That love should be warmed.
And people striving for goodness,
Should not be harmed.

People are not inwardly ugly,
They have the power to feel.
In their own sense of knowledge,
They know what is real.

O the world has good people,
And many without shame.
High standards invite them,
To glory in their name.
