A view from Jeanneb

Glorious day out

Today we ladies made for the lovely River Wharfe and the Devonshire Estate around Bolton Abbey.
This is the second time I have done this walk with the group and it is usually reserved for high days and holidays. Today was beautiful, as you can see, in contrast to yesterday, but you can see evidence of the snow on the hill tops.

It was pretty cold but we kept warm striding out from Barden Bridge along the river and through the woods to the Cavendish Pavillion for a loo stop and then back on the other side passed the Strid.

The reward for this is a visit to a local tea shop for a cream tea, even though it was only 11.00am! This is the view of Bolton Abbey from the garden, where we sat out as it was even colder inside!

Last time I did this walk was in Febraury last year when I took a picture of the cream tea here

One unusual thing I saw on the river side was this branch covered in moss with ferns growing out of it!

A fabulous day for a good walk in good company.
