Easter Sprouting Parsnips

You may have heard of sprouting potatoes, sprouting broccoli and sprouting lentils,
but have you heard or even been lucky enough to see sprouting parsnips?

Well I give you my very own specially grown ones, whiskery and definitely sprouting.
I cultivated them in the dark at the foot of the fridge where originally they were destined for soup, but with the summer temperatures during the last 2 weeks, they escaped the pot to lurk unseen, unwanted and quietly sprouting.

Actually I find parsnips make the soup too sweet for my palate, so their one claim to fame will be as a Good Friday blip.

I was flabbergasted to read that a large percentage of children do not know the significance of Easter, and think it celebrates the birth of the Easter Bunny.
I also read that while Muslims are allowed to wear head veils to work, Christians are barred by some European legislation from wearing crucifixes at certain places of work.
I find the logic in this disturbing, if indeed it is true.

With the gym visit done and dusted early, it was only the furniture that needed the same treatment before we had a most enjoyable coffee morning with friends we haven't seen since we moved.
There was a great deal of catching up with news of all the members of our extensive families, and lots of four way conversations guaranteed to make his Lordship's head spin, but it seemed the perfect way to spend a dismal, soggy Good Friday.
