For the family

By RonaMac

A new colour.

I planted new tulips this year so the colours that have appeared have been a surprise! I know I should have labelled them etc?.. but that's too much like being organised!!

There was a ground frost this morning, but blue skies gave the promise of a warmer dry day. We spent many hours in the garden moving things about and tidying up.

We (me) have agreed to do another open garden day with other villagers as a church roof fund raising event in July. We have a small garden on what was a difficult sloping site. Silk purses and sows ears comes to mind!!

It always makes for an interesting day, as you never know who will turn up.
It also concentrates one's mind on getting things done to be ready for the day. This isn't Chelsea when everything is specially grown and all trucked in for the event.

This is just one day in the life of our garden, we live with it and enjoy it the rest of the year!!
