"It is Finished!"

As it's Easter Day I thought I would blip the painting I did for the church Easter exhibition. I usually paint landscapes, so coming up with an idea for a painting to depict the events of Easter was somewhat of a challenge! I was thinking of the crucifixion (Good Friday) and looking forward to the resurrection (Easter Sunday) when I started, drawing some inspiration from the artist Victoria Crowe for colour and style. It was with some relief I handed it in to the exhibition (paint still wet!!). Next week I can get back to my comfort zone of landscapes :-)
