Up close and personal

it's not every day you get up cllose and personal to birds of prey, but the bird of prey centre in Old Warden, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire is very good for up close and personal to many bird of prey.

You can even have the real tammed ones sit on your gloved hand.

Okay, okay - £10 per adult is a little steep. But all under 16s are free so that's not too bad.

If it is not raining, then you could spend a good couple of hours here. There are other things at Old Warden (the Shuttleworth Collection) and a very impressive childrens play area which would be fantastic if the 'sun doth shine'. There is also some Swiss Gardens which I have never been around.
