Life on the Good Intent

Breaking a Resolution

To break:

Present
I break
you break
he/she/it breaks
we break
you break
they break

Present perfect
I have broken
you have broken
he/she/it has broken
we have broken
you have broken
they have broken

This weekend many will have broken their Lenten fasts. I broke my New Year's resolution. A demon sat on my shoulder in the salad aisle in Morrisons and showed me images of these luscious beauties - griddled, dissolving into rich tomatoey sweetness or most sensuous of all, the crunch and grittiness of dipping into the depths of garlicky lemony humous, licking double dipping and biting. I was lost - broken. Two red peppers, one orange and two kinds of tomatoes were whirled into my trolley.

This is my entry for the WBC - a Spanish capsicum - my fall from grace - the breaking of my local food diet.
