And there was light
We have these tall lights up around Gabalfa Interchange. They light the whole area. The lights get lowered from time to time for maintenance - they'd need a long ladder to change the bulbs otherwise.
I remember the work of creating the interchange in the late 1960s. I'm still looking for photographs of the way the area looked before.
The Cardiffians website has a map of the area from 1942. This shows the way that North Road (A470) and Whitchurch Road used to come to a point. Some of the buildings were demolished and the roads end at Stokes Decorators.
