Today's the day .............................. to chase rainbows

Such a lovely evening tonight - so we drove across into the Lyth Valley to look at the damson trees. The blossom is just coming out and everything is shaping up nicely for Damson Day this coming Saturday.

The evening sky was full of interesting clouds. In some directions they were very dark and you knew that over there, an April shower would be bucketing down. But then before very long, they would be replaced with blue sky again.

This intensely coloured rainbow was over the Howgill Fells. I thought it would disappear as quickly as it had come - but amazingly it seemed to stay in the same place while we chased around trying to find the best place to capture it on camera ......................................
