Plum Blossom - Opal
Today was an Addenbrookes Hospital, day, although I spent the morning with my grandson. My granddaughter was not at home having gone to a friend for a sleepover.
We got to Addenbrookes and the clinic early, only to find that the appointment had been cancelled! The letter, cancelling this appointment and making a new one, apparently sent last year, had never arrived; the new appointment was for yesterday! They did try to find a space for Mr A, but there was no lung function facility or doctor free, so they have made another appointment for next week. Apparently this is quite a common occurrence with letters not arriving and patients turning up for the wrong appointment.
Instead of coming straight home again we went into Cambridge and bought some lovely new bed linen. We had quite a lot of Marks and Spencer vouchers and so we used those and only paid £5 for a new duvet cover and pillow cases, four plain white pillow cases, two bottom fitted sheets and two new duck down pillows; a bargain.
Then we went to John Lewis and had a very late lunch/early dinner; they have a lovely new menu with several puddings which are suitable for me as well as some main courses.
We are going to Addenbrookes again tomorrow for physiotherapy for Mr A. He should also have had an MRI and the two appointments were made so that we only had to make one trip. However, his MRI was cancelled, by telephone, this morning as one of the MRI machines is broken!
Today's blip is of some plum blossom - variety Opal, the picture is taken through a wire cage as this is a young tree and this is the first blossom it has produced. The wire cage is necessary to protect it from deer and rabbits. If you look very closely the blossom also has some raindrops on it.
