Ladies Day on Mathew Street

Today was Ladies Day at Aintree Racecourse and as I was walking through town after work crowds of race goers were heading into the bars and clubs in Liverpool. I had planned to
stop for a drink on the way home but the bars were full, the cash machines were empty and there was rain on the way so I decided to get the train back and pour my own gin and tonic. Sure enough, just as I stepped off the train the first large drops hit the pavements. I hope there was room for everyone in the town bars, or there will be some very damp fascinators out there.
