New Titanic sculpture for Port Sunlight
Today was the unveiling ceremony for the Titanic sculpture, which will be moved to different locations in the village every few weeks for the next six months. The artist, Claire Blakeborough, attended with her family and we had a delicious afternoon tea in the Lyceum.
Vinolia soap made at the Port Sunlight factory was used in the first class cabins on the Titanic, and a stewardess who survived the disaster was living with her mother in Park Road in 1912.
