Friday 13th!

Today was approached with trepidation being the superstitious sort! However with the exception of crashing the computer till in the co-op it was fairly uneventful. When I transferred to another till the shop assistant told me that it must be because my groceries came to £6.66 on Friday 13th. Spooky!!

Despite that today has been relatively uneventful but nicely busy. At tea Pete asked what my blip for the day was, and I said I had no idea. So this evening was dedicated to getting a blip. could it be the bluebells in the woods at the back of the house, or Daphne sitting on the back of the bench, or even Peggy eating corn out of Pete's hand? No, so I headed off to Ferry Meadows on Snowy in search of a blip.

I ended up with a few to choose from but decided on Milton Ferry Bridge. It spans the River Nene and formerly supported a toll-gate for charging pedestrians who used the local path to and from the village of Alwalton. Records show that toll collectors were still working the bridge well into the 1960s. The bridge was originally built in 1716, financed entirely by the Right Honourable William Earl Fitzwilliam.

Ok local history lesson over. Cycling tomorrow to a crocodile farm - so guess what tomorrows blip will be!!!
