Cake, tea and crocodiles!
Not quite what CTC stands for! And no prizes for guessing what my blip was going to be today.
Just back from our weekly cycle ride - turned out to be 50 mile and a glorious ride it was. 11 of us were out and we had a tail wind all the way to the crocodile farm in Old Hurst. I don't think some of the group believed there would be real crocodiles and everyone was delighted to see them. The whole place was fantastic and the cake and tea was so yummy, lots of animals to see and all free. I expect they go on the fact that you will buy a cuppa or use the farm shop. One of our group used both and strapped some buffalo steaks to his rear rack after he had had his tea and cake. Here is one of the magnificent crocs there were 3 in total. Its taken through glass but I am still quite happy with it.
The ride there was on a lot of Fen roads - so very flat. This is fine if you have a tail wind which we did. but the roads are straight and can get a bit boring. However we had a ride leader extraordinaire being Pete who planned a ride that kept us off the busy roads and mainly on minor roads that took us through some beautiful villages. The way home was going to be slightly harder as we were heading into the wind via a slightly hillier route. But I think with our tummies full of delicious cake and the sight of the crocs it didn't feel that bad at all. Feeling nicely tired now just need more tea and then I will be ready to take Tallulah for a stroll.
Here are some more pictures of our day - note the big piece of cake - it was Petes
What a great way to spend a Saturday
