As you probably know, my football team is the Mighty Shots. But the lovely Mrs Nicktor supports Southampton, and as a thoughtful, kind, considerate and loving husband of 15 ish years, I've tried to take her team as my own. Well clearly not totally as my own - my heart will always bleed red and blue, but pretty close to my own.

And Southampton play in red. Which is a good thing for a football team. I mean, there has never been any team that has ever won anything that plays in blue, is there? All teams that play in blue are crap. Think Portsmouth. Gillingham. Reading .....

Reading ....

I hate Reading. Nearly as much as I hate Crawley. Although Crawley play in red. But they're still crap. But their horrible manager has moved to Rotherham in the last week, so now I need to hate Rotherham as well, because I really hate Steve Evans. Rotherham also play in red. And they always seem to beat the Mighty Shots. I even went up to the Dom Valley stadium for the play-offs with another 706 Shots upporters a couple of years ago - and we lost again .....

But anyway ... I hate Reading. This is principally driven by a couple of kickings I got as a teenager going to Elm Park to watch the Mighty Shots lose 30 odd years ago. We still sing on the terraces at the Recreation Ground, "We hate Reading"

So I was cheering on the lovely Mrs Nicktor's team tonight. But they lost to Reading. And to cap it all, goals 2 and 3 were scored by the Reading substitute Adam Le Fondre - who recently joined Reading from Rotherham. Whenever Rotherham beat the Mighty Shots, it was always The Fondu who scored the goals. As he did tonight. He's a brilliant - brilliant goal scorer. But I hate him because he doesn't play for my team

So there you have it. I hate Blue, Portsmouth, Reading, Crawley, Steve Evans, Rotherham and Fondu's .......
