Contentment.

In a life of material possessions with the continual quest to have more and more it becomes very easy to forget about the simple things that really make us happy. Today I found a big dollop of contentment and had a cracking day too!

The boys arrived nice and early sporting big smiles and open arms. With the picnic already prepared and weather forecast on side we headed for the beach. Once there we kicked off our shoes, rolled up our sleeves and started digging as boys do. Following a short adjournment for a walk to the lighthouse and a light lunch, the digging and splashing about continued until we were all soaked through and caked from head to toe in sand.

After a bit of resistance we dusted ourselves off, changed into some dry clothes and went to get the ice-creams in before a short hop down the road to old Nain's. She might be in her nineties, but she always gives us a great welcome, a good feed and all of her attention. Most importantly though she demonstrates the happiness that contentment in life can bring.
