Glen Massan

I saw this initially as a faintly Constable-esque scene, with the farm-associated containers and the sheep grazing in the background beside the river. However, when I see it on screen I realise the light is so northern as to be almost recognisably Scottish - which is all very right and proper here. This secluded glen is a large hanging valley with an exit gorge, down which the River Massan, so peaceful in the pictures, tumbles in torrents that can be quite dramatic after rain, before calming down into the mature river of the lower glen.
