SHOPPING :)

It's my second last day today so of course I had to go shopping! Carina and I got up as early as we physically could, which wasn't actually that early and began the shopping trip by a visit for some cheap DVDs and I bought photoshop for the computer for £2!!! crazy. The weather was stinky again :/ so we had to go back to the flat for layers...silly unpredictable pacena weather.

Off we went again, this time to the Witches market, one of my favourite places in La Paz. Carina and I tend to be shopping buddies as we have have a bit of an addiction here and seem to encourage each other to spend a lot! I can't mention what I bought today as a few pressies were purchased but I got a lot and didn't even spend that much money. Carina bought more than me which makes me feel better but that's only because I had a weight limit to remember. We literally shopped until we dropped until 7 or 8pm.We also forgot to eat during this time and returned home absolutely starving! I had to have a grapefruit as soon as I got home but that didn't help too much.

We decided to go to La Casona for dinner after walking past it on the way home and leave the Bolivian speciality 'anticucho' (heart) for another night. Harry couldn't come cause he got really bad altitude sickness today; walking through all the main parts of the city was definitely not a good idea for him yesterday! When we finally got sorted and got to the restaurant the kitchen had closed, 10pm on a Saturday night I couldn't believe it. We tried a 2nd restaurant before managing to get a table at La Suisse. Steak it was for a second night in a row and as Helena said 'no big deal'.

After the meal the tiredness quickly hit us and we didn't manage to make it out to Sharolls concert plans or to Ivan's party. A Saturday and my last night in La Paz and I felt slightly boring. We headed to the flat, stopping for movie snacks on the way and tried to watch Amelie as Carina couldn't believe I hadn't seen it. But we couldn't turn the director's commentary off in the end so we opted for Avatar. That wasn't too successful either though as I fell asleep (standard) and we all went to bed shortly after.
