All dressed up

Like half of the rest of the world we bought an over-designed, totally impractical folding iPad cover, which drops off all the time. It doesn't stand up properly and fails to protect the back of the iPad as it slithers from your lap.

So I've had a weather eye open for a better solution. Ali spotted a beautiful leather case in John Lewis last year but at £600 it was way out of our league.

Who would have thought that lowly Lidl would have come up with the ideal solution? This case stands up perfectly and has an integrated bluetooth keyboard. And for under 40 euros. Bingo. Also comes in black - and I don't have shares in Lidl.

Mind you, we had to check every box before we found one with the usb power cable. At least half had been nicked or were missing from previously opened boxes.
