The French Connection

Today we laid my sister to rest. Some of our French relatives made the trip to England to say goodbye (They live in Calais, which is actually closer to Newhaven than where I live).
Although we would have loved to have got together in other circumstances, it was great to see them and exchange family news and gossip.
My cousin with the beard was a motorcycle cop near St Omer for twenty five years - some of you may have met him as you sped south from Calais. :o) As soon as he'd served his time and got his pension, he retired and started growing his hair and beard. He still tears around on a Harley at great speed though. It meant a lot to all of us to see them today.
