Back Home
Last night we left location and are heading for Rotterdam now. The feeling of heading back to your home port is something you'll only understand when you're used to leave your home and family for longer periods. Sometimes it's called 'Channel Fever', although we do not have to transit the English Channel this time. Everything is ready for our drydock period. The galley will be partially dismantled so Sjoerd, our cook, is baking enough bread in advance to feed the complete British Expeditionary Force. Tomorrow, I don't think I have time for taking any pictures at all, maybe a last Saturday blip. We will be busy with inshore anchor handling and mooring of the Hermod, then transfer our fuel to the Hermod. Saturday morning this will be completed and we will shift to our drydock in Schiedam where my relief will be waiting and I am going home.
