Musee d'Orsay

This is the wonderful Musee d'Orsay. We had to get up early to avoid the long queue . Even so, it took about half an hour to get in, after which we spent 4 hours thoroughly enjoying the exhibits and still not having seen everything. There is an exhibition of Degas et les Nues, which we rushed through at the end.

We wandered over to L'Ile de la Citee to let D see Notre Dame. Again, queues were too long, so we had our picnic in the beautiful garden under the flowering cherry, then visited the Memorial des Martyrs de la Deportation, the memorial to the French who were deported during WW2.
We resolved to get up early again next day and return then. Before we left, we were serenaded by the "Troubadour de Paris", Hugues Bouchindomme, singing his chansons d'amour. He even sang "I can't help falling in love with you" to M and me, to prove that he knew some English and to persuade us to buy his CD. It worked!
