Here we go again!

Prague Castle

Today was our first full day in Prague. We walked from our apartment-hotel in Smichov to Prague Castle. We saw part of the castle area today (Cathedral of Sv Vit and the Golden Lane) and had lunch in a beautiful spot near the black gate, with a view over the city.

This afternoon we walked across the Charles Bridge. This picture is taken from the bridge, looking back at the Castle, with the Kafka Museum in the foreground on the bank of the river Vltava. We walked through the Stare Mesto and visited the Mucha Museum. It was small but we really enjoyed it.

J is the best of the four of us at remembering Czech words and using them. He asked for the wine list and the check at lunch (all in Czech, with minimal sign language!) and managed to get them both. Th has decided that Mucha is her second favourite artist (after Signac) and Ch learned that ice cream in Prague is extremely cheap (about 75 cents for a single cone!).
