Surprise World
We left the house this morning leaving our drainage heroes filling the hole that I have stared at so often over the last few days. They knew where we were going but did not let on to the little ones.
For a while now Girl has been desperate to go to our destination of today. Each time she has mentioned it I have told her she would not appreciate it until she was older. This is because we have been planning a visit for the little ones birthdays for a while now. Well she got older last week and Boy will be getting older soon so today was the chosen day.
As we approached the entrance Girl saw a sign and got very excited and said "We are going to Peppa Pig World, I think". Boy did not get as excited as he was asleep. However when he woke he must have been a bit excited as he didn't get grumpy from being woken up at all.
Not long after and we were up on the Big Balloon ride which made my stomach turn before going on Daddy Pigs car ride. As we sat down for lunch the heavens opened with an ice fall shower that caught me and the buggy out. After this the day was filled with bursts of sunshine and bursts of heavy showers. This actually worked out well as it meant we did not have to queue for much as the weather must have put some people off.
After getting through all the Peppa Pig rides, some more than once, we headed out to the rest of the Paultons Park ones. This is when we found out the Girl is quite the adrenaline junkie. Whilst Boy and I hid from the rain, by the trampolines, we caught sight of the ladies flying round on the fast Dragon ride.
After this I asked Girl if she wanted to go on the Rollercoaster, which she did. We sat in the front and as we charged round and she laughed all the way. Then when we got off and started towards the exit she said she wanted another go so we climbed back in at the back. The back was much faster than the front which simply made Girl laugh even more. When we got off the ride she was desperate for another go and I had to drag her away to go to the teacup ride that made me feel sick.
After another quick blast round a much quieter Peppa Pig World to get in a couple of last rides we popped into the shop, where it seemed all the other customers where hiding, as it was rammed. We then headed for home all tired and happy.
Today has been a great day where it was noticable how little moaning occurred (apart from me in the balloon and teacup ride). If only we could go there every day. To top off all the happiness we then got home to find a filled in hole with a lovely finish. The drainage heroes had even fitted some of the old victorian tiles back into place to leave a nice symetrical finish. A big weight off after almost ten months of putting up with what turned out to be quite a serious drainage leak (See I told you Southern Water).
But today was really about the family and seeing the smiles on the little ones faces full of fun and joy. I think I am going to have to man up a bit with the theme park rides in the future. I hope Girl doesn't tell any of her friends how badly I took to the Peppa Pig Windy Castle ride, while she was laughing her way through the day at high speed.
