Safari Day Two....

...Nakura Park.

Day two began with a lovely fry up before we head off to Flamingo Hill by Lake Nakura. The journey was about 3 hours - which became the norm really - which gave everyone lots of time to bond and get to know the driver....and for me to sleep. Ian, as expected, was worth his weight in comedy genius.

Driving through Kenya you get the feeling that everyone, rich or poor, old or young, is so happy. A welcome and spirited sight!

Flamingo Hill was quite superb. Our tents (tents did I say?) were out of this world. Fully functioning and independent. It felt like a canvas hotel room! After yet another 3 course meal (of which we were becoming accustomed to three a day) we set off into the park.

James, our driver, who is one of the nicest people I've met, proved his worth as Tracy continued to rapid fire questions at an alarming rate. He had the answers to just about everything. In many ways, he is like a small, black, shaven headed version of David Attenborough! In the park, we saw zebra, flamingo (among other birds), white and black rhino, hyena, baboons and giraffe. There was talk of leapards and lions, but the gits evaded us. Team America (the other party we were with) had better luck on that front....bloody Yanks! The dead baboon cub, possibly drowned, was tough for the ladies, and was a rather low way to end a great day.
