Securing a gate

Number five in my list of "101 things to do with baler-twine!" - this should have been the first probably, because it is THE classic use.... securing a gate with a loose lock. This gate is along the shore path at the bottom of the village and a beautiful walk in any weather, but particularly today in the early-morning Spring sun. Why would you want to live anywhere else?
