Dark Frame

I took this picture of the cat to try out something in Photoshop I read about on holiday. Basically after shooting low light pictures, rather than using the camera's built in noise reduction which makes a second blank exposure and combines the two to reduce noise, one takes a picture after all your other shots (this is meant for astrophotography where taking a lot of long exposures and having to wait while the camera does its thing every time is annoying) and then combine them in photoshop to reduce the noise. It didn't really work and I only remembered later that I think you are supposed to invert the dark frame before adding it as a difference layer. Will have to check back on that.

This week has been very frustrating at work, we are trying to resurrect an old system that uses an old database and framework system and it is still stubbornly refusing to run, I had hoped that it would at least be up by the end of the week but a DBA is required to do some jiggery-pokery on the servers at the new datacentre so it has to wait until Monday.

Played quite a bit of Goldeneye: Reloaded, its OK but I can't remember if I played the previous version or not. Filled in time though.
